Oak Hill, Utah Prep dominate quarterfinal pairings at Iolani Classic

Oak Hill and Utah Prep, as expected, punched tickets to the Iolani Classic semifinals, both with resounding wins.

Howard Williams had a game-high 26 points, knocked down five three pointers and made all three of his free throws to lead the way in Oak Hill's 93-56 win over Imhotep.

The Warriors held a slim edge over the Panthers after one quarter of play, but used a 26-8 second quarter advantage to seize control of the game.

Ethan Mgbako added 19 points and four threes and Deondrea Lindsey 14 more for Oak Hill, who also had three more players with at least eight points in the contest. Collectively the Warriors knocked down 13 triples and shot 18 of 23 from the line.

The Panthers of Philadelphia, Pa. were led by RJ White and Latief Lorenzano-White, who each scored 13 points. Carnel Henderson and Zion Green also hit double figures with 11 and 10, respectively.

Host Iolani kept things a bit interesting early, but ultimately was no match for Utah Prep, falling 84-30.

Anthony Felesi led Utah Prep with 21 points and former Hawaii standouts Layden Kauka and JJ Manaquit had 13 points each.

The Raiders trailed just 19-13 after the first quarter, but were held to just 17 points total over the final three quarters.

Aidan Wong had 10 points and knocked down 5 of 6 free throws to lead Iolani.

Utah Prep and Oak Hill will face off in a 6:30 p.m. semifinal Friday, to be followed by Brewster and Veritas at 8 p.m.

Oak Hill is seeking an eighth Iolani Classic title, while 2024 marks Utah Prep's inaugural appearance.
