Hawaii hung tough with nationally-ranked Boise State for three quarters Saturday night, but ultimately came up short in a 28-7 loss. 

A sold out crowd of 15,194 fans at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletic Complex saw the Rainbow Warriors fall to 2-4 overall and 0-2 in the Mountain West Conference. 

Boise State, the No. 17 team in the country, improved to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in league play with its fourth consecutive win. 

Hawaii fell behind 13-0 by the 7:06 mark of the second quarter after the Broncos sandwcihed a couple of Jonah Dalmas' field goals around a 54-yard touchdown run by Ashton Jeanty, the nation's leading rusher. 

Jeanty also hauled in a 5-yard TD pass from Maddux Madsen with 12 minutes left in the fourth quarter. 

Jeanty finished with 31 carries for 217 yards and added three receptions for 20 yards. It was his third game with at least 200 rushing yards this season and the fifth of his career. 

Madsen's 44-yard TD pass to Austin Bolt closed out the scoring with 3:44 to play. 

Hawaii's lone score was the result of a 28-yard scoring strike from Brayden Schager to Tylan Hines at the 3:24 mark of the second quarter. 

Schager finished 21-of-36 passing for 264 yards. 

The Rainbow Warriors had 279 yards of total offense, while the Broncos amassed 441 total yards. 

Madsen threw for 217 yards on 17-of-25 passing. Cameron Camper recorded seven receptions for 111 yards in the win. 

Hawaii will play at Washington State next Saturday before returning home to face Nevada on Oct. 26.
