Streak broken.

For the first time since Sept. 16, 2011, Campbell bested nemesis Mililani, 41-20, breaking a streak of 16 consecutive losses by the Sabers to the Trojans.

Led by QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele, Campbell put up 350 passing yards of offense and its defense allowed just 20 points, the lowest point total put up in single game by Mililani against the Sabers since 2018.

Four different receivers caught scoring passes from Sagapolutele, led by Zayden Aviar-Costa and Rusten Abang-Perez with a pair each. The duo each caught six passes in the contest, for 116 and 11 yards respectively.

Sagapolutele eclipsed the 300 yard mark for the fifth time this season and the six touchdown mark for the third time this season. It was his second six touchdown game in a row. The Cal-commit has also thrown for no less than four TDs in any contest this year, good for 32 in total.

He did throw his second interception of the season, but could basically do no wrong otherwise.

Despite a masterful performance by Sagapolutele, Mililani was nearly stride for stride with Campbell for three quarters.

Nakoa Kahana-Travis ran hard for all 21 of his carries, racking up 117 yards and two scores on the ground, and third-string QB Dallas Carter, came in for Kekoa Koong and started off a perfect 5 for 5 passing, including a 34 yard pass hook up with Lehiwa Kahana-Travis that equalized the game at 13-13 late in the second.

The Trojans looked to gain some key momentum late in the third, as a Nakoa Kahana-Travis capped a drive with a one yard plunge to bring the home team to within striking distance at the 1:53 mark, but Sagapolutele hit his second buzzer beater of the game (he also closed out the first half by finding Abang-Perez on a 30 yard pass play as the clock hit zeros.) to extend the lead and buoy his defense, finding Alviar-Costa on a beautiful arcing strike from 43 yards away.

Leading 34-20 heading with a quarter to play, Campbell's defense did what it needed to, forcing a three and out on the opening possession of the fourth, followed by a turnover on downs on the next drive to seal the win.

In between those two stops, Campbell put the game all but out of reach with a seven play drive highlighted by a 44 yard connection between Sagapolutele and Shaison Kupukaa and capped with a nine yard passing score to Alviar-Costa to make it a three score advantage.

The Sabers defense was led by Zechariah Alualu-Tuiolemotu (six tackles, three for loss, two sacks) and Antonio Castro (six tackles, two sacks). Aisiah Paogofie chipped in the 10 tackles (six solo). In total, Campbell registered eight tackles for loss, five sacks and broke up five passes.

Mililani was led defensively by Chevy Robinson, who had seven total tackles and Kayden Anzaldo, who registered an interception to go along with two tackles.

The top-ranked Sabers travel to Waipahu next week before closing out the regular season on the road at Kahuku. The last win over the Red Raiders for those keeping score, was October 6, 2018, 28-27, in Ewa Beach, a span of nine losses since.

Mililani takes on Farrington and Kapolei over the final two week stretch, both on the road as well.
