For one quarter of play, Saint Louis went stride for stride with nationall ranked St. John Bosco, but the Braves eventually picked up the pace and rolled to a 69-47 win over the Crusaders in the opening round of the Iolani Classic.

Pupu Sepulona, the reigning ScoringLive All-Hawaii Divsion I Player of the Year, led all scorers with 24 points, and impressed for the second year in a row in the opening round of the Classic. The junior forward had a 27 point outburst against another national power, Montverde, in 2022, and his output this time around against Bosco was definitely noteworthy.

The Braves, ranked ninth in the lastest MaxPreps rankings, were led by Brandon McCoy and Kade Bonam, who both scored 21 points in the win.

Saint Louis trailed just 16-13 after the first quarter, but the Braves went on an 18-7 spurt to close out the half, and then outpointed the Crusaders 21-8 in the third to put the game all but out of reach.
