Kailua earned its first victory of the year and levelled its league record to 1-1 with a 30-15 win over Castle.

The Surfriders outgained the Knights 207 to 18 on the ground and scored three rushing touchdowns, one each by Clayton Quindachay, Romeo Ortiz and Caysen Samson.

Castle actually led at the half, as a 27 yard touchdown pass from Nai Kalauokaaea to Trisen Kalauokaaea with a two-point conversion via the run by Ezekiel Totten late in the second quarter vaulted the Knights ahead 15-10.

Kailua's defense kept Castle off the scoreboard for the remainder of the game, however, and helped its own cause with a 25 yard fumble return for a score by Atunaisa Tongotea that opened up the scoring in the fourth and extended the Surfers' lead out to seven.

Quindachay led all rushers with 87 yards on 12 carries, with Samson close behind with 76 yards on 15 attempts to spearhead the Kailua rushing attack. Kalauokaaea hauled in four passes for a game-high 84 yards in the loss.
