Moanalua upsets Mililani in opening round play

Moanalua is moving on.

Na Menehune bested host Mililani on the opening day of the Heide & Cook/HHSAA Division I Boys Basketball Championships in a 60-56 win Monday night.

Gavin Pommerenk scored 12 points off the bench to lead Moanalua, who will take on fourth-seeded Kamehameha-Hawaii Wednesday in a 5 p.m. quarterfinal at Na Menehune's gymnasium.

J Marxen and Creighton Ofsonka scored 12 points apiece to lead the Trojans in their season-ending loss.
