WAIANAE - No. 9 Waianae rolled up 444 yards of offense to defeat Farrington, 49-20, Friday night at Raymond Torii Field.

With the win, the Seariders (2-3) kept their postseason hopes alive with a game left in their regular season. They visit Kapolei (1-3) Friday night. With a win, Waianae will clinch fourth place in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Open Division. The top four teams advance to the Open tournament in which three will advance to the Open State Tournament.

A crowd of 600 watched the Seariders celebrate senior night and kept the Governors (0-4) still looking for their first win.

Quarterback Tarent Moniz-Babb passed for 181 yards and three touchdowns and running back Alvin Quisquirin-Sabagala rushed for 126 yards and two TDs to lead the Seariders' offense. Chayce Gomes and Akoni Halemano each had two TD receptions. One of Gomes scoring strikes came from Kilohana Thomas, who shared time with Moniz-Babb.

When Waianae took a 42-6 lead midway through the fourth quarter on a 5-yard TD run by Tevin Wilbur, it had initiated the mercy-rule running clock. But that was short lived as Josiah Chaffin returned the ensuing kickoff 81 yards for a TD. Twenty-five seconds later - after Farrington recovered an onside kick - it scored on a 20-yard TD pass from Marcus Moreno to Zechariah Molitau to pull the Governors to 42-20. Although the Governors were successful on another onside kick, their drive stalled after four downs. The Seariders secured the game on Quisquirin-Sabagala's 4-yard TD run with one minute, 19 seconds left that made it 49-20.

Waianae linebacker Tamatelee Nakoa and Kelly Feleti Jr. tied for the team lead with eight tackles. Three of Nakoa's tackles were sacks.

Farrington had three interceptions: one each by PJ Petelo, Malouamaua Faleao, and Jason Felipe. All were off of Moniz-Babb.

Moreno passed for 123 yards on 11-of-19 passing, tossing TD passes of 9 yards to Kein Kahele and 20 yards to Zechariah Molitau.

Farrington will host Leilehua (0-4) Friday night.
