Kaiser takes to the air to overwhelm Waialua

Kaiser improved to 2-0 on the season with a 31-7 win on the road over Waialua.

The Cougars racked up 418 yards of total offense, 250 of which came through the air. Kaiser's passing attack accounted for all four touchdowns in the game, three of which went to Justin Kanekoa.

Easton Yoshino, who was unavailable a week ago for the opener against Kalani, suited up for the contest and completed 14 of 25 passes for 245 yards, which included first half scoring strikes of 36, 32 and 37 to Kanekoa and a 19 yard pitch and catch to Donovan Reis to cap the scoring in the fourth.

The aforementioned Kanekoa hauled in 5 passes for 151 yards and running back Ryder Rodrigues carried the ball 19 times for another 150 yards of offense via the ground game.

Waialua's best drive came in the third quarter, where the Bulldogs capped off a drive with a 20 yard pass from Blazen Benz to James Zara at the 8:09 mark that got the home team on the board.

Defensive lineman Nick Wild had an hand in both of Kaiser's safeties in the game, one a recovery of a muffed snap in the end zone in the first quarter and the other a tackle of the ball carrier in the end zone in the second.
