Strong start helps Bulldogs hold off Tigers

Host Kaimuki scored five total runs in the bottom of the second inning to hold off McKinley, 7-4, in an Oahu Interscholastic Association Division II contest Wednesday afternoon.

Leadoff hitter Kaulana Kaluna never got a hit in the game, but scored three times and pitched two innings in relief to help the Bulldogs improve to 2-2 in league play.

Designated hitter Dennis Trotter played a big part in Kaimuki's big second inning with two RBIs and a run scored.

Koby Moanau, William Paia and Kaipo Chun also scored for the Bulldogs.

Christopher Bryant picked up the win on the mound for Kaimuki.

Elijah Vincent drove in two runs to lead the Tigers (1-3) in the loss.
