OIA-ILH agree on two-year interleague schedule

The Oahu Interscholastic Association and Interscholastic League of Honolulu announced in a joint press release Wednesday afternoon of a two-year interleague football schedule agreement for the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

Teams from both leagues will play regular season games against each of the other schools in their respective divisions.

The agreement follows the three-tier format of the Hawaii High School Athletic Association state tournament with an Open Division, Division I and Division II.

"On behalf of the OIA membership, we're pleased to have reached an agreement with the ILH to compete in an interleague schedule of non-league football games and look forward to exciting competition on all three divisions beginning with the upcoming season," OIA Executive Director Raymond Fujino said in the release.

"The ILH is very grateful and looking forward to this partnership with the OIA that will create renewed interest and benefit the athletic programs and student-athletes from both leagues," ILH Executive Director Blane Gaison also stated in the press release.

Open Division: Campbell, Farrington, Kahuku, Kapolei, Mililani, Waianae, Kamehameha, Punahou, Saint Louis.

Division I: Aiea, Castle, Kailua, Leilehua, Moanalua, Radford, Nanakuli, Waipahu, Damien, Saint Francis.

Division II: Kaimuki, Kaiser, Kalaheo, Kalani, McKinley, Pearl City, Roosevelt, Waialua, Iolani, PAC-5.

UPDATE (03/24/18): Iolani will be in Division I while Saint Francis will be in Division II.
