Big first quarter helps Hurricanes down Governors, 67-51

Kapolei outscored visiting Farrington by 13 points in the first quarter to get by for a 67-51 non-league win Tuesday night.

Three players scored in double figures to give the Hurricanes a victory before they participate in the annual Iolani Classic this weekend.

Zoar Nedd had a near double-double of 15 points and nine rebounds, Isiah Higa added 12 points and Jalen Miller scored 11 more with a game-high five steals.

Ed Lauther Ped scored 10 points to lead the Governors in the loss.
