WAIPAHU — Kamehameha scored early and often en route to a 7-0 thrashing of Moanalua in an opening-round game of The Queen's Medical Center/Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division I Girls Soccer State Championships at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex Wednesday afternoon.

Dawncey Jones-Black scored twice in a six-minute span of the second half to lead the Warriors (11-1-1). It was her team-leading eighth and ninth goals of the season.

Brooke Ramos, Cami Keliinui, Mira Arakakai, Jourdan Mata and Sharon Cain each added a goal in the win, which propelled Kamehameha into Thursday's semifinal round, where they will face fourth-seeded Baldwin.

Kamehameha finished second in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu this year after failing to qualify for the 2015 state tournament. It has not allowed a goal since a 1-0 loss at Iolani on Jan. 13 — a string of seven consecutive games.

Moanalua, which is making its second straight state-tournament appearance, finished fourth in the Oahu Interscholastic Association. It has now lost three straight games and has been shutout in back-to-back contests.

Na Menehune (9-4-1) will play Waiakea in a 1 p.m. consolation match Thursday.

Kamehameha and Baldwin will play in the first of four quarterfinals in the main stadium at 1 p.m.

Other quarterfinals Thursday feature No. 3 Hilo taking on Pearl City at 3 p.m., No. 2 Iolani meeting Kamehameha-Maui at 5 p.m. and top-seeded Mililani facing Campbell at 7 p.m.
