HALAWA – Ashley Kiko scored seven of her game-high 20 points in the second overtime and No. 6 Roosevelt outlasted Farrington, 55-51, Wednesday night at the Jim Alegre Gymnasium.

The two-time defending champion Rough Riders (12-0) will play Leilehua for the Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I girls' basketball championship, 7 p.m. Saturday at Alegre Gym. The Mules are seeking their first crown since 2013.

While Kiko delivered the most points – 12 coming from free throws – it was a nice putback by Alliya Gabriel (14 points) with 3:11 off a missed 3-pointer by Keala Quinlan that broke a 46-all game in the second OT. Kiko, who made the first basket eight seconds into the second overtime by scoring off a steal, made 5 of 6 free throws down the stretch to fend off the Governors (10-3), who will play Radford Saturday for third place.

"That was a key shot she made along that baseline," Roosevelt coach Hinano Higa said of Gabriel's putback. She's comfortable there, so she stepped up at the right time."

The game ended at 39-39 after regulation and Farrington pulled ahead 44-41 with 58 seconds left in the first OT. But Kiko scored three points in the last 35 seconds to tie it at 44.

Molimau Heimuli led a trio of Governors in double-digit scoring with 18 points. Lokelani Pacheco added 13 and Chantal Mailou had 10.

At least the Rough Riders have a day to rest their weary legs after eight extra minutes of play.

"We'll recover tomorrow," Higa said. "We have to get back to work tomorrow, prepping for Leilehua."
