No. 17 Lone Peak blitzes Farrington, 89-24

Frank Jackson and the visiting Knights from Lone Peak (Highland, Utah) got the 32nd annual Iolani Boys Prep Classic started with some flair.

The Knights, ranked No. 17 in the USA Today Super 25 national rankings, combined speed with athleticism to dismantle Farrington, 89-24 at Iolani's Lower Gymnasium Thursday afternoon.

Jackson was one of three players to finish in double figures for Lone Peak, scoring a game-high 17 points on 8-for-13 shooting from the field. He scored the first two points of the game off an alley-oop pass from Steven Ashworth.

Nate Harkness added 16 points with six rebounds and Ashworth had 15 points with seven assists to round out the double-digit scorers for Lone Peak.

Ashworth scored all of his points from beyond the 3-point arc, knocking down all of his five 3-point attempts. The Knights' ability to hit from deep helped them roll to a 47-14 halftime lead.

Lone Peak's quick passing allowed them to assist on 24 of its 34 made field goal attempts. The Knights were 34-for-61 shooting from the field.

Farrington had trouble against the Knights' length and shot at a 26.4 percent clip (9 of 34). The Governors also committed 25 turnovers, 18 of which ended up in steals for Lone Peak.

The Knights also outrebounded Farrington, 39 to 20.

Via Agor had eight points and Musiula Alaivanu-Afe and Chris Afe chipped in six points apiece to lead the Governors in the loss.

Lone Peak will take on Mount Saint Joseph (Baltimore, Md.) in the first quarterfinal game on Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 3:30 p.m.
