OIA judo divisional results


The Oahu Interscholastic Association Eastern and Western Division judo championships took place Saturday at McKinley and Mililani, respectively.

In the East, Moanalua came away on top in six boys' divisions. Richie Wong (108 pounds), Diamond Inouye (114), Kulana Salera (161), Andrew Pascua (178), Zorich Palimoo (198) and Ryan Souza (285) won their respective weight classes. Other winners were Castle's Wendell Ebesu (121 pounds), Kalani's Micah Tateyama (132), McKinley's Daeniel Tiamzon (145) and Kahuku's Leord Tongi (220).

Na Menehune also had five champions on the girls' side in Amanda Higa (103 pounds), Sienna Ho (122), Richann Benedito (154), Kyrah Hughley (172) and Arianna Harris (220). Other winners were Roosevelt's Menjam Tamang (98 pounds) and Macy Higa (109), Kalani's Czarina Pineda-Abaya (115) and Zoe Tateyama (129) and McKinley's Risa Higa (139).

Kapolei won five of the boys' weight classes in the West. Jayson Pagurayan (108 pounds), Andre Pagurayan (114), Anthony Brett (121), Kaulana Narciso (132) and Rodman Salangdron (145) all won their divisions. Other winners were Mililani's Paxton Horiuchi (161), Aiea's Harley Oshiro (178) and Matt Miner (285) and Pearl City's Maui Lee (198) and Jackson Fuamatu (220).

Pearl City had five individual champions on the girls side in Adrienne Nazareno (98 pounds), Louise Pekelo (103), Mikayla Abe (109), Kayelah Arakaki (139) and Mana Borden (172). Other winners were Mililani's Kaylin Castro (115) and Haylie Shinsato (122), Leilehua's Sarah Murallos (129), Aiea's Kari Okubo (154) and Sarah Miner (220).
