Nick Endo | Special to SLFueled by four rushing touchdowns in the first half by running back Wayne Taulapapa, top-ranked Punahou jumped out to 56-7 halftime edge and coasted to a 56-22 win in front of a Homecoming crowd at Alexander Field.
Taulapapa scored on runs of 9, 37, 3 and 2 yards respectively, all within the first quarter and a half of play, and Ephraim Tuliloa added a pair of touchdown passes to Heisman Hosoda and Kanawai Noa as well as a rushing score of his own, part of 49 points put up by the Buffanblu offense.
Punahou's defense surrendered the most points it has all season to the Raiders in the contest (22), but chipped in 7 points of its own to help the cause on a 46-yard interception return for touchdown by Saitui Moeai.
The Raiders closed to 21-7 on a Storm Lotomau plunge early in the second quarter, but got no closer.
Tuilloa finished 14-of-15 on passing attempts for 294 yards and 2 scores, 6 of those passes completed to Noa, who had 169 yards receiving on the afternoon.
