Of the last six Division I softball state champions, three have come from the Interscholastic League of Honolulu.

Kamehameha won its last of eight state titles in 2008, Mid-Pacific won back-to-back crowns in 2011 and 2012 and Punahou brought home its first state championship last year. Such is the parity in the ILH, where every game has postseason implications. Saturday's game between Iolani and Mid-Pacific — part of a televised ILH-OIA doubleheader on OC16 — is no different.

The Raiders and Owls face off at 5 p.m. while Leilehua and Pearl City take the field at 7 p.m. Both games will be played at Patsy T. Mink Central Oahu Regional Park.

Iolani, which won consecutive state titles in 1999 and 2000, opened ILH play Wednesday with an 11-1 win over Sacred Hearts. Cassie Ho led the way for the Raiders with a pair of RBIs and Macy Uehara and Taylor Garcia-Perreira, who picked up the pitching victory, each drove in a run. The game was called after five innings due to the 10-run differential mercy rule.

Mid-Pacific rallied from a two-run deficit with a five-run third inning in a 5-2 win over Saint Francis Wednesday. Nicole Lopez and Lindsey Matoi each had a pair of hits and Kalli Ann Akimseu, who tossed a complete game in the pitching circle, and Kiley Oeda both drove in a run in the win.

Both teams are in action Friday. Iolani plays Saint Francis at Kamamalu Field, while Mid-Pacific visits Punahou. Both games are at 4 p.m.
