First-time matchups in 3 of 4 state quarterfinals games

There will be a lot of unfamiliarity when the First Hawaiian Bank state football tournament opens this weekend.

Three of the four quarterfinals will feature teams playing against each other for the first time. Campbell and Hilo will play for the first time when they meet at Kea'au High Friday night.

Both D2 quarterfinals also will feature first-time meetings when Kaiser hosts Konawaena and when Pearl City visits Kauai at Vidinha Stadium. Both play Saturday.

Baldwin and Farrington will meet for the eighth time when they play Friday at War Memorial Stadium in Wailuku. The Bears leads the series 5-1-1, including 3-0 in state quarterfinals.
