Radford rolls past Roosevelt, 45-0


Led by quarterback Cody Lui-Yuen, Radford ended Roosevelt's season Friday night at Ticky Vasconcellos Stadium emerging with their fourth straight win and second straight shut-out, 45-0.

Lui-Yuen passed for five touchdowns and an interception, completing 14-of-29 passes for 359 yards. Wide receiver Absalom Henry also contributed to the Rams' victory, notching two touchdowns with five receptions for 185 yards.

Running back Tobias Powell also made a gem of a touchdown after going 77 yards on a pass from Lui-Yuen. Powell also had two rushes for 32 yards.

On the other hand, Rough Riders' quarterback Keanu Furtado led his team in passing as he completed two out of seven passes for 10 yards with an interception. Running back JD Walker made 7 rushes for 13 yards while wide receiver Sheadon Kalei led with two receptions for 13 yards.

Radford kept the points pouring in during the first half of the Rough Riders' homecoming game with six touchdowns, one of which was a 45-yard interception return by wide receiver Jordin Pacheco.

Aside from Powell's 77-yard touchdown, Henry also got the crowd roaring after a 91-yard run to score in the second quarter.

With the clock ticking towards the end of the game, the Rams' managed to squeeze in a finale after defensive back Izaiah Lavatai intercepted the ball and ran 45 yards down to the end zone.

Roosevelt ended their season with a 1-7-0 league record, 1-8-0 overall.

However, Radford, which now holds a 6-1-0 league, 7-1-0 overall record, continues on to face the Pearl City Chargers next Friday at 7:30pm for their last regular season game.
