Punahou sweeps HHSAA Tennis Championships


Punahou won both the boys and girls team titles at the Carlsmith Ball/HHSAA Tennis Championships held at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel Fitness Club.

Mililani's Alyssa Tobita won her third consecutive girls singles title with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Ashley Ishimura of Punahou, while Punahou's Kawika Lam defeated defending state champ Marcel Chan of Kamehameha-Kapalama, 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (6).

The Punahou duo of Ryan Adachi and McKenna Fujitani took down fellow teammates Jon Costales and Dylan Shen to win the boys doubles crown, 6-4, 7-6 (3), and Iolani's Kara Okazaki and Kristen Poei defeated Punahou's Katie Kim and Dani Young, 6-3, 7-6 (8) in the girls doubles final.
