In a pivotal OIA White matchup at Radford's Donald M. Kimura Field, first place Waianae (7-0) led 2-0 over host Radford (6-1) before the game was called in bottom of the fifth inning due unplayable conditions caused by heavy rain.

In the top of the first, Waianae's Brandon Cambra hit a triple start things off and then scored a run off of Kekoa Kaluhiokalani's sacrifice fly. Then in the fourth, Brandon Rojo scored off of a wild pitch to give the Seariders a two-run cushion.

Waianae's Kekoa Kaluhiokalani, Jr. hit a double and a single. As the starting pitcher, he struck out 2 batters. A strong defensive effort by Waianae kept Radford scoreless and hitless.  

"I went out there to throw strikes and let my defense do the work. We set goals and one of our goals was to shut them out with a no-hitter. Our coaches have high expectations for us," said Kekoa Kaluhiokalani, Jr.

To start the bottom of the fifth inning, a heavy downpour sent both teams scurrying to their dugouts. The game eventually was called off with play set to resume on Monday.

"I think defensively we have been making routine plays and our pitching has been doing well. It's unfortunate it came to this. If we got three more outs in the bottom of the fifth then the game would have been official. It looks like we have to play on Monday. When we come back on Monday, the game starts from the beginning so we have to get another pitcher going. It's unfortunate, but it is what it is," said Waianae coach Kekoa Kaluhiokalani, Sr.
