The Pac-Five Wolfpack remained undefeated (6-0) in ILH Division II play after defeating the Maryknoll Spartans, 2-1, at Ala Wai field.

"Every game is a team effort. We are blessed we have 10 seniors and almost half of the team is underclassmen and they need guidance. We play every game tough and we go by the saying that 'nobody practices harder than us,'" said Pac-Five head coach Dennis Fukunaga.

Brayden Yabuki went 3-of-4 at the plate and scored 2 runs off of Shawn Hampton's RBIs and that turned out to be the only scores for Pac-Five.

"I just tried to get on base as a leading batter. I trust the batters 2 through 4 to bring me in. I wish we could've produced more, but our defense held up and Chris (Andreyka) did well on the mound," said Yabuki.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Maryknoll's Jed Andrade scored a run from third base to get the Spartans on the board.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, with 2 runners on base and 2 outs, Pac-Five pitcher Chris Andreyka struck out Maryknoll batter Phillip Aylward to seal the game.

Andreyka played all seven innings and struck-out 4 batters.

"I just wanted to try and throw strikes and not walk anyone. I let my defense do the work and mixed up my pitches. Coach called a good game and he helped mix up my speeds," said Andreyka.

Pac-Five plays 'Iolani II on March 28 at Ala Wai field at 3:30.

"If it's one thing we covered, it's being humble. Everyone is gunning for us so we have to take one game at a time and we'll see where we go," said Fukunaga.
