'AIEA - Jasten Smeigh pitched one-hit ball over six innings and helped his cause with a three-run double to help Campbell roll 'Aiea, 11-0, Saturday in O'ahu Interscholastic Association Western Division baseball at 'Aiea Recreation Center.

First baseman Rayven Kahana paced the Sabers' 14-hit attack by batting 3 for 4 with three doubles, three RBI and three runs. Brannon Okinaka went 2 for 4, Jobe Ibana batted 2 for 3. Tryzen Patricio also had an RBI double.

Smeigh, a right-hander, relied on an effective change up to hold to hold Na Alii to a first-inning single by Chaz Quebral-Acosta. Smeigh walked two and struck out seven in six innings. Dorrien Hermosura, who started at designated hitter, pitched the final inning, allowing a walk in a scoreless seventh.

"He threw for us how we was throwing for us last year," Campbell coach Rory Pico said of Smeigh's outing. "Today, he was down (in the strike zone) most of the day. That's the key for him to be successful."

The Sabers provided Semeigh with early run support, tagging 'Aiea starter Dylan Madamba for three runs in the first. Madamba lasted 2 1/3 innings, allowing four runs and five hits. He left after giving up Patricio's RBI double in the third that made it 4-0.

"It left the weight off my shoulders," Smeigh said of the early run support.

Campbell added single runs in the fourth and fifth innings on RBI singles by Okinaka and Ibana, respectively. The Sabers cushioned their lead with Smeigh's bases-loaded double in the sixth. Kahana's two-run double in the seventh wrapped up Campbell's scoring.

"Felt good because it helped me out," Smeigh said of his hit.

The Sabers started a middle infield of sophomores Ibana at short and Jake Mendoza. Campbell's projected starting shortstop, Dylan Ramie, is nursing a knee injury, Pico said. Ramie, though, did pinch hit in the seventh and singled before closing the bottom of the frame at shortstop.
