La Lumiere (La Porte, IN) survived a 30-point fourth quarter rally from Oak Hill (Mouth of Wilson, VA) to advance to the 'Iolani Prep Classic title game.
 
Sam Logwood led the La Lumiere Lakers with 22 points, while Detrick Mostella added 21 points including six 3 pointers and Jalen James had 16 points. Sindarius Thornwell led the Oak Hill Warriors with 18 points and Troy Williams added 14 points.
 
In the first quarter, La Lumiere jumped out to an early lead, going up, 21-8. It got heated when Oak Hill’s Troy Williams and La Lumiere’s Munis Tutu were whistled for off setting technical fouls. The Lakers led the Warriors, 25-8 at the end of the first quarter.
 
In the second quarter, Oak Hill outscored the La Lumiere 19-15. Thornwell scored 6 of his 14 points to help the Warriors cut the lead to 13, 40-27 going into halftime.
 
Detrick Mostella was on fire and hit four of his six 3 pointers in the in the third quarter. Two of his four 3 pointers helped put the Lakers up 50-31, giving them their largest lead of the game.
 
With 1:23 remaining in the quarter the Lakers were hit with a technical foul. La Lumiere’s Adi Aruna was inadvertently hit and rolled in pain in front of the Oak Hill bench. He was held back by teammate Johnathon Wilkins after an exchange with the members of the Oak Hill bench.  
 
The fourth quarter belonged to the Warriors. They went on an 11-0 run for 4 minutes and 32 seconds, to bring them within 12, 62-50.
 
A Lakers turnover at 54.6 seconds, allowed the Warriors to bring the score within 8, 66-58.
 
Off a missed free throw attempt, Thornwell grabbed the rebound and was fouled on the put back lay up. His free throw made the score 66-62 with 41.2 seconds remaining.

Oak Hill stole an inbounds pass and Thornwell drove it to the middle unimpeded to make it 68-67 with 15.6 seconds left.
 
The Warriors fouled Munis Tutu putting him on the free throw line. He missed the first free throw attempt and on the second attempt, he was called for a lane violation.
 
Oak Hill received the ball back with a little over 12 seconds remaining. Thornwell drove to the basket, but Adi Aruna drew the offensive foul with 3.0 seconds left.
 
La Lumiere inbounded the ball and they immediately fouled Tutu. He sank two free throws with 2.2 seconds left, putting La Lumiere up 70-67.
 
Oak Hill’s Ike Iroegbu shot a desperation three pointer beyond half court and it fell short at the buzzer.

Oak Hill faces Montrose (Rockville, MD) in the third place game at 6:30 pm while La Lumiere advances to the championship game to play Findlay Prep (Las Vegas, NV) at 8 pm.
