Offensive Player of the Year: Brody Bantolina, Iolani, Sr., RB

The Raiders' workhorse led the state in both carries (207) and rushing yards (1,290) and total touchdowns (24) - all by a wide margin. Bantolina averaged 6.2 yards per rush and 117 per game behind an offensive line that featured three All-ILH first team selections in Tristan Kim, Raynne Passi and Luke Ravizza. Iolani posted 38.4 points and 333 yards per game with a balanced attack that averaged 171 rushing yards to 162 passing yards. Bantolina's steady production in the ground game - he averaged nearly 19 carries a game — allowed the Raiders to ease first-year starter Micah Hoomanawanui into the quarterback position, where he thrived last fall. Bantolina eclipsed the century mark in seven games and had at least 22 carries six times, including a season-high 29 carries against Aiea. He ran for a season-high 168 yards and two TDs in the win to put the Raiders back into the state final.

Defensive Player of the Year: Kaeo Akana, Roosevelt, Sr., DE/LB

The University of Utah-bound Akana wrecked havoc on opposing offenses all season as a menacing pass rusher for the Rough Riders. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound senior was rated as the No. 2 recruit in the state and picked the Utes over at least a dozen other schools, including Oregon, UCLA, Nebraska and Boise State. Akana tallied 40 1/2 tackles, including 25 for losses, with 13 tackles and two forced fumbles in 2021. He racked up 12 tackles, seven TFLs, four sacks and a forced fumble against Moanalua in Roosevelt's penultimate game of 2021 and closed out his prep career in dominating fashion: 11 1/2 tackles, eight TFLs and five sacks in a win over OIA title game-bound Waipahu. As a sophomore in 2019, Akana posted 23 1/2 sacks in 13 games and was an All-Hawaii Division II First Team selection. He recorded a pair of sacks in the Polynesian Bowl in mid-January.

Coach of the Year: Wendell Look, Iolani

In his 29th season, Look led the Raiders to an undefeated 11-0 season, an ILH title and their first Division I state crown. Iolani's offense averaged 38 points and 333 yards per game, while its defense allowed under seven points and 170 yards each time out. It recorded six shutouts on the year, including both state tournament games. After a heartbreaking loss to Hilo in the 2019 D1 state final, Look and the Raiders got their redemption with their first state championship since 2014.
