Offensive Player of the Year: Zedekaiah Campbell, Kamehameha-Maui, RB, Jr.
With the graduation of three-year starting quarterback Makana Kamaka-Brayce following the 2023 season, the Warriors reinvented themselves from an aerial attack to a run-first offense and Campbell played a pivotal role in that transformation. In Kamehameha-Maui's two state tournament games, the 5-foot-11, 175-pound Campbell ran for 360 yards and three touchdowns on only 28 carries, an average of 12.6 yards per rush. He registered 18 carries for 239 yards and a TD in the title game win over Kaiser.
Defensive Player of the Year: Tea Nuuhiwa-Santos, Kaiser, LB, Sr.
The 5-foot-10, 195-pound middle linebacker was the linchpin of the Cougars' defense, which held opponents to only 16 points and fewer than 215 yards per game this year. He racked up 9 ½ tackles with two fumble recoveries in the OIA championship game against Roosevelt. In the state final against Kamehameha-Maui, Nuuhiwa-Santos registered a game-high nine total tackles. He also came up with three interceptions and two pass break-ups on the season. Nuuhiwa-Santos is a repeat All-Hawaii First Team pick.
Coach of the Year: Ulima Afoa, Kamehameha-Maui
After losing in two state finals' appearances in the three years prior, the Warriors captured their first state championship this fall. The season began with back-to-back losses to Beaumont (Calif.) – a team that went on to win its league and finish 9-2 – and eventual Open Division state champion Saint Louis. Afoa's bunch bounced back from the early-season adversity by winning nine of their final 10 games, including a convincing 60-26 romp of OIA champion Roosevelt in the state semifinals.
