The reigning Division I state champions should be fully healthy for its showdown against third-ranked Saint Louis in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu-opener for both teams at Aloha Stadium on Aug. 29. The Buffanblu had their game against Leilehua on Aug. 8 canceled due to the threat of Hurricane Iselle.

QB McKenzie Milton and the offense were simply stellar Saturday, scoring touchdowns on nine of their 12 offensive possessions. Milton passed for 367 yards and rushed for another 204. In all, he factored into seven touchdowns. The other two scores came from RB Vavae Malepeai, who carried 25 times for 107 yards.

QB Tua Tagovailoa had an impressive varsity debut, throwing for 198 yards and five touchdowns on 18-of-28 passing, without an interception. SB Allan Cui III and Keanu Souza each pulled in a pair of touchdown grabs while SS Jedadiah Lulu notched a game-high nine tackles. DE Makoa Chapa added seven tackles and recovered three fumbles.

4. Kamehameha (0-0)

The Warriors were scheduled to open their season at Waianae back on Aug. 8, but the threat of Hurricane Iselle forced the cancelation of that game. Instead, Kamehameha will not play in Hawaii until Sept. 5, when it takes on Saint Francis. It will travel to California next week to take on Del Oro, but will not meet a Division-I opponent here until Saint Louis on Sept. 20.

RB Kesi Ah Hoy flashed his versatility Friday night, scoring on a rush, a pass and a kickoff return against the Hurricanes. Ah Hoy threw a 4-yard TD pass to QB Tuli Wily-Matagi in the second quarter before breaking loose on a 94-yard kickoff return and ripping off a 38-yard touchdown jaunt in the third.

RB Ranan Mamiya was on a phenomenal pace (4 carries, 123 yards, 3 touchdowns) in less than one half of action Saturday before the Marauders threw in the towel due to attrition. Mamiya scored on runs of 25, 61 and 30 yards. DB Jristin Solomon, LB Bryce Tatupu-Leopoldo and DB Siaosi Pakileata each intercepted a pass in the win.

7. Campbell (1-0)

The Sabers rushed for 306 yards against the Knights Friday night, led by RB Tyrell Johnson's 151 yards on 11 carries. Johnson and Austin May each rushed for a touchdown and WR Jayce Bantolina hauled in a pair of touchdown grabs. DB Dylan Villanueva recorded two of Campbell's three interceptions in the game.

8. Leilehua (1-0)

QB Kalanimoku Pauole passed for 318 yards and four touchdowns on just 10-of-17 passing in Saturday's rout of the Surfriders. Two of those scoring strikes went to WR Toma Savea, who finished with five receptions for 165 yards. RB Ikaika Piceno added a pair of rushing touchdowns and 122 ground yards on just 11 carries.

The Hurricanes held a 7-0 first quarter lead against the Red Raiders Friday night, but allowed 26 consecutive points and never recovered. They were held to just 239 yards of total offense, including 101 passing by QB Alton "Panaewa" Julius, who threw a touchdown pass and ran in another score.

After knocking off Waianae for the first time in school history Friday night, Na Menehune are riding high. However, another trip to the West side looms against Campbell Friday night. In the win over the Seariders, QB Kawika Keama-Jacobe threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns, both to WR Jason Sharsh.
