KS-Hawaii outduels Moanalua to reach title game

Kamehameha-Hawaii defeated Moanalua in a five-set marathon, 25-15, 27-29, 25-18, 23-25, 15-10, to reach the Division I title game of the New City Nissan Boys Volleyball Championships.

Warriors' outside hitter Evan Enriques reached the thirty-kill plateau for the second time in as many nights, this time notching 35 kills to go along with 20 digs and 5 blocks. DJ Grant-Johnson added  5 kills, 17 digs and 3 blocks, and Daniel Aina Jr. 3 kills, 11 digs and 2 blocks.

Ahren DePonte led Moanalua with 16 kills, 7 digs, and three blocks in the loss.

Kamehameha-Hawaii will face off with top-seed Punahou, a straight set winner over Kalaheo, in the championship game set to follow the Division II title match set for 5:00 p.m.

The last boys volleyball title won by an BIIF school was Hilo in 1969.
