Moanalua girls, Kamehameha boys claim state wrestling crowns

Moanalua girls made it a three-peat, while Kamehameha claimed its first crown since 2020 in the Texaco/HHSAA State Wrestling Championshps held at the Cannon Activities Center in Laie.

Na Menehune had four individual state champions, Sky Ramos at 105,  Kaitlyn Fong at 110, Nahenahe Kalamau at 125 and Zaira Sugui at 155.

Kahuku's Maia Esera won her third state title, pinning Waipahu's Janelle Mattos in the championship match.

On the boys side, Kamehameha took the title despite did not having a state champion, while Lanai got its first ever state champion when Diesel Del Rosario claimed victory over the Warriors' Evan Kusumoto for the 120 pound title.

The win was Na Menehune's sixth team title, while the Warriors made it eight championship wins overall.
