Damien, University Lab to face off in all-ILH D2 semifinal

For the third straight year, it will be an all-ILH affair in the semifinals of the New City Nissan Division II Girls Volleyball Championships.

Damien swept second-seeded Waialua in the first quarterfinal at Kaimuki's gymnasium Wednesday while University Lab handled third-seeded Seabury Hall in straight sets in the second semifinal.

The Monarchs and Jr. Bows will square off in the 5 p.m. semifinal at Kalani's gymnasium Thursday night. It will precede the second semifinal between top-seeded Mid-Pacific and Hawaii Baptist.

University won the regular season meeting with Damien on Oct. 10 in four sets, 25-21, 25-27, 25-20 and 25-21.
