Hilo seeded first in the D1 football state tournament

Hilo will be the top-seeded team in the First Hawaiian Bank/Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division I Football State Championships brackets as the brackets for the eight-team tournament were released by the HHSAA Monday afternoon.

All first round matchups in the Division I state tournament field are slated for Friday, Nov. 4. All games are set to start at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

The Vikings, who have yet to notch a state tournament win under their belt, will host Leilehua of the Oahu Interscholastic Association at Keeau High School.

Baldwin, the Maui Interscholastic League Division I champion, was seeded fourth and will host Mililani at War Memorial Stadium in Wailuku, Maui.

Waiakea, the Big Island Interscholastic Federation runner-up, will travel to Oahu to take on second-seeded Campbell at Ewa Beach.

Iolani was seeded third and will take on Moanalua at Roosevelt's Ticky Vasconcellos Stadium.

Brackets for the inaugural Open Division and Division II field have not been released yet.
