Kalaheo tops Lahainaluna, 58-51

Captain Whitlock and Kekai Smith combined for 33 points and Kalaheo downed Lahainaluna, 58-51, in a fifth-place semifinal of the OC16 Division I boys' basketball state tournament Friday at the Stan Sheriff Center.

The Mustangs will play Baldwin for fifth place, 11 a.m. Saturday at the SSC.

Whitlock led the way with 21 points, while Smith followed with 12.

Jefferson Locke paced the Lunas with 13 points.

Andrew Kearney led Kalaheo with 10 rebounds. Lahainaluna's Gage Johnson led his team with 10 rebounds.
