Punahou three-peats as Ann Kang Invitational champion

Punahou swept past Mira Costa of California 27-25 and 27-25 to capture its third consecutive Ann Kang Invitational Volleyball Tournament title Saturday.

The Buffanblu went unbeaten in the three-day tournament, winning all nine of their matches. They lost just one set along the way.

Lakewood defeated Iolani in the third-place match, 25-22 and 28-26. Punahou reached the title match by sweeping past Iolani 25-23 and 25-10 in the semifinal round.

Other teams from Hawaii that participated were Moanalua (9th place), Seabury Hall (10th), Kahuku (11th), Maryknoll (13th), Hawaii Baptist (15th) and Iolani II (16th).

Punahou's Hana Lishman was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
