No. 3 Saint Louis pounds Pac-Five, 73-6

HALAWA — After a crushing loss to Kamehameha a week ago, Saint Louis rolled to an easy 73-6 win over Pac-Five Friday in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu game at Hawaiian Airlines Field at Aloha Stadium.

Ryder Kuhns passed for 126 yards and three touchdown in less than one half of action as the Crusaders (3-1 overall, 1-1 ILH) racked up 468 yards of total offense. Devon Stubblefield caught two of the scoring passes from Kuhns and running backs Adam Noga and Raymond Caayon added two rushing touchdowns apiece.

Saint Louis, which fell one spot to No. 3 in this week's ScoringLive/OC16 Division I Power Rankings, dominated defensively, allowing just 87 yards by the Wolf Pack (0-4 overall, 0-2 ILH). Faafatai Lulu intercepted two passes, returning one for a touchdown, and Tanner Oshiro added another pick-6 for the Crusaders.

After Kuhns hooked up with Stubblefield on a 70-yard touchdown pass on Saint Louis' first offensive play of the game, Pac-Five got its lone score on an 18-yard touchdown pass from Anthony Canencia to Tsubasa Brennan with six minutes and 53 seconds left in the first quarter. The extra point was no good and Saint Louis held a 7-6 lead.

The Crusaders scored 21 points in the next two minutes on a 79-yard run by Adam Noga up the middle and interception returns by Oshiro (42 yards) and Lulu (25 yards) on consecutive Pac-Five drives.

Kuhns threw second-quarter touchdown passes to Stubblefield and Spencer Johnson before Noga scored on a 33-yard run to make the score 29-6 with 6:06 left before halftime.

Christopher Quinn's 35-yard field goal gave the Crusaders a 52-6 lead at halftime.

Caayon scored on runs of 46 and 45 yards in the second half and Kaulana Vinoya also found the end zone on a 4-yard rush.

Saint Louis finished with 279 rushing yards and averaged 15.5 yards per rush attempt. Noga had 149 rushing yards on just five carries.

It was the most points scored by the Crusaders against the Wolf Pack since a 89-7 win in 1999.
