Punahou to host girls wrestling clinic, invitational


Punahou School will host a wrestling clinic featuring national champion and Team USA member Iris Smith on Monday and the second annual Punahou Invitational Girls Wrestling Tournament on Tuesday.

Both events will be held at the Buffanblu's Hemmeter Fieldhouse.

The clinic will run from 1 to 4 p.m. and will be followed by the tournament weigh-in. The college fair and a discussion entitled "Opportunities after High School" will be held from 5 to 7 p.m.

Tuesday's tournament - known as the Pa'ani Challenge - will begin at 9 a.m. with more than 250 wrestlers from statewide expected to compete.

Admission for the tournament is $5 at the door and free for students with an ID. Parking on campus is free.
