Kalani outlasts Campbell in Division I opening round clash

Kalani advanced to the quarterfinals of the Motiv8 Foundation/HHSAA Division I boys soccer championships with a 3-2 win over Campbell.

The Falcons, a state semifinalist a season ago, trailed early when the Sabers got the opening score by Zane Wdzieczzkowski 31st minute, but were able to seek out the equalizer just two minutes later by Davian-Fox McElfresh.

After the break, Kalani took the lead in the 48th minute on a score by Seth O'Neal, then added to its lead when Toranosuke Kikuchi added a goal in the 52nd.

Campbell was able to make it a one score game with a goal by Cody Mar in the 68th minute, but could not find the game tying goal before time expired.

Up next for the Falcons is a matchup with MIL champion Baldwin, with all games being played at Waipio Penninsula Soccer Complex.
