Waipahu is moving on in the OIA Division I playoffs.
The Marauders built a 2-0 lead before holding off a late charge by visiting Roosevelt for a 3-1 opening round win at the Masa Yonamine Athletic Complex Monday night.
Waipahu (8-2-1) notched their fifth straight win in the process and will play Castle, the second-seeded team from the East, in the first quarterfinal at Mililani's John Kauinana Stadium Tuesday. Kickoff is slated for 5:30 p.m.
Freshman Rylie Soriano got the scoring started for the Marauders in the 22nd minute when she took advantage of a breakaway opportunity down the right sideline.
Deizha Lyn Jacinto, Waipahu's leading scorer with 11 goals, had a hand in the next goal when she fired a nice cross to Shylee Nii, who scored from point blank range in the 47th minute for her sixth goal of the season.
The score would remain at 2-0 until there was 35 seconds left in the match. Alivia Breeden avoided the shutout for the Rough Riders when she scored on a nice through ball from Kaileigh-Ann Ragodos.
Waipahu answered right back 11 seconds later when Caitlin Jane Ucol received the long kickoff from Keena Nakamura.
Roosevelt saw its season end with a 4-6-1 record.
