For the second time in as many matches, there was no winner in the clash between league rivals Punahou and Iolani.

The Buffnablu and Raiders played to a scoreless draw in both teams' league opener held at Iolani's Eddie Hamada Field.

Punahou and Iolani's last wins in league play date back to Jan. 21, 2023, though the Raiders rattled off three straight wins in the state tournament following a 1-1 draw in the final game of ILH play last season en route to a tenth HHSAA boys soccer title.

The next chance to breakthrough for a win between the two squads is quite a ways away, with the second league clash set for Jan. 23, six league games from now.

Defending champ Iolani's draw against Punahou did stretch its match streak without a loss to nine, dating back to Jan. 4, 2023, where it lost 2-0 to Kamehameha.
