Maddox Pung scored 11 of his game-high 19 points in the second half to lift Kailua to a 45-37 win over University Lab in the title game of the Kailua Surfriders Holiday Classic Saturday night.
Pung, a sophomore swingman, accounted for seven of his team's 13 fourth-quarter points as the Surfriders (6-1) tallied their third win in as many days to deny the Junior 'Bows (5-1).
Skylar Unten scored nine points and Dylan Kunz and Noa Donnelly added six apiece for Kailua, which shot 12 of 16 from the free-throw line and hit five 3-pointers.
Trey Ambrozich led University Lab iwth 18 points.
Kailua held a 12-7 lead after one quarter and led 28-22 at halftime.
The Surfriders defeated Waipahu, 60-38, in the tournament quarterfinals Thursday and handled Kamehameha by a score of 58-30 in Friday's semifinal round.
The Junior 'Bows reached the final with a 67-64 win over reigning two-time Division I state champion Saint Louis Thursday, followed by a 64-49 win over Campbell Friday.
