It will be a Kamehameha Schools showdown in the semifinals.
Third seed and No. 7 Kamehameha-Hawaii topped No. 6 Mililani, 25-11, 16-25, 25-18, 25-20 while in the night cap, No. 2 and second seed Kamehameha-Kapalama overwhelmed No. 8 Roosevelt in the quarterfinals at McKinley's Student Council Gymnasium.
It will be a rematch of last year's quarterfinals where Kapalama swept Hawaii, 25-19, 25-12, 25-19. Their match will follow a highly-anticipated clash between top seed and No. 1 Moanalua and unseeded No. 3 Punahou at 5 p.m. at Moanalua.
The Trojans drop to face the Rough Riders in the consolation bracket on Friday at McKinley.
Micah Wana powered the BIIF champions with 26 kills and hit .538 on the match. He added nine digs, an ace, and two blocks. Kullen Pua added 14 kills and Micah Mahuka dished out 48 assists.
Manase Fetulimoeata and Tyler Durance led the Trojans with 11 kills apiece, Carson Nakamura passed out 33 assists, and Trevin Matsuba had four service aces in the loss.
The Warriors held a two point lead before breaking away with a 10-2 run aided by Mililani miscues. KS-Hawaii pushed the lead to double digits and took set one, 25-11. Mililani hit minus-.107 while KS-Hawaii was .360 in the set.
The Trojans shook off a poor finish in the first set and tied the second set at 6. Matsuba landed a pair of aces to keep Mililani ahead and kills from Wana and Kala Makaike kept the Warriors within two. However, Mililani capitalized on six Warrior attack errors and went up, 19-12. The Trojans maintained an eight-point cushion and Fetulimoeata knotted the set up with a kill.
In the third set, KS-Hawaii broke an 11-all tie and Wana's four kills and three attack errors put the Warriors up by six. The Trojans got within four on Duranceau's kill but could not get any closer as Wana placed a kill to claim set three.
The Warriors took control late with a 8-2 run to build a six-point cushion, 19-13. Mililani made a late push with a 5-0 run and got within one, 19-18 after four attack errors on the Warriors. KS-Hawaii regrouped and finished off the match with a 7-2 run.
Kamehameha-Kapalama tramples Roosevelt, 25-10, 25-17, 25-14
The Warriors from Kapalama proved to be too much for the No. 8 Rough Riders.
Kainoa Wade led the way with a game-high 14 kills, nine digs and three aces while Heston Cabinian added 12 kills. Brayden Van Kuren had 28 of the team's 38 assists and Harryzen Soares had a pair of aces.
KS-Kapalama pounced early with a hot start and built an insurmountable double digit lead to claim set one.
Roosevelt bounced back and gave the Warriors all it could handle, but KS-Kapalama pulled away as Wade landed his three aces during their 9-3 run.
Both teams traded points in the third set, but the Warriors broke open the game and built a double digit lead late and never looked back.
KS-Kapalama hit .366 on the match while Roosevelt was .087.
Ford Lyons led the Rough Riders with seven kills and an ace, and Danny Lieu had 19 assists.
