WAILUKU, Maui - Makane Honokaupu drove in two runs in a three-run sixth and pitched three innings of scoreless relief and No. 1 and top-seeded Baldwin held off No. 7 Hilo, 6-3, Thursday night in quarterfinal win in the Wally Yonamine Foundation Division I state baseball tournament at Iron Maehara Stadium.

The Bears (15-0) play unseeded Kailua in the 7 p.m. semifinal Friday.

Baldwin survived allowing seven walks and nine hits to the Vikings (6-4). The team were engaged in a 3-all game through five innings before the Bears broke the game open with a three-run sixth highlighted by Honokaupu's two-run single.
