Twelve to be inducted into Hall of Honor




Twelve senior student-athletes from four leagues on three different islands are the latest inductees into the Enterprise/Hawaii High School Athletic Association Hall of Honor.

They are:

» Teshya Alo, Kamehameha (wrestling, judo).

» Emalia Eichelberger, Punahou (water polo, paddling).

» Mariel Galdiano, Punahou (golf).

» Shandon Hopeau, Kapolei (soccer).

» La'akea Kaho'ohanohano-Davis, Baldwin (football, track and field).

» Kaeo Kruse, Kamehameha (cross country, swimming, track and field).

» ‘Aukai Lileikis, Punahou (swimming, water polo).

» Vavae Malepeai, Mililani (football).

» Lalelei Mata'afa, Lahainaluna (wrestling, water polo).

» Austin Matautia, Moanalua (volleyball).

» Chanelle Molina, Konawaena (basketball, volleyball).

» Emma Taylor, Hawaii Prep (track, soccer, volleyball).

Malepeai and Molina were named ScoringLive Distinguished Male and Female Athletes of the Year, respectively, Sunday night at the Manoa Grand Ballroom.

A 16-member committee made up of present and former media members, athletic directors and coaches statewide deliberated over the weekend in making the final selections. While athletic achievement is the main criterion, also considered were sportsmanship, character, academics and community service.

Each inductee will be presented a $2000 scholarship that is sponsored by Enterprise Holdings.

The inductees will be formally announced at the awards banquet at 5 p.m. June 5 at the Dole Cannery Pomaika'I Ballroom. For ticket information, call 808-800-4092.
